Yellowtail Teriyaki (Buri Teriyaki)

Yellowtail teriyaki is a winter common dishes where the best fish is available with fatty and tasty. Its popular to eat as Sashimi, on sushi and of course the best way to cook in teriyaki sauce . It pretty goes well with hot rice, miso soup and some pickle.

Ingredients (for 2 servings)

2 fillets 2cm ( 200g) Yellowtail fish
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp sake ( Japanese rice wine) 
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tsp honey
1 Tsp fresh grated ginger juice


  • Wash fish fillets and pat dry with kitchen paper, set aside.
  • Mix the sauce ingredient well and marinade the fish for 30 minutes, turn occasionally.
  • Place the fish fillets on the aluminum foil, pour in half of the marinade, grill in oven toaster for 5 minutes, pour remaining marinade and continue grilling for another 5 minutes. (If pour in all the marinade at once it easily gets burned)
  • Take out, arrange and serve immediately.
