Egg Curry (ၾကက္ဥဟင္း)

Egg Curry is my all time favorite dish and I believe most of the Burmese people definitely love this curry. This curry is using very simple ingredients, easy to cook and of course very delicious dish that goes well with rice. Using duck egg is even better taste and flavorful but chicken egg is equally good.

Corn Tea

Corn tea (Oksusu cha ) as its name made from roasted corn kernels. It's originally from South Korea and now getting popular in Japan. The ready made bottle can be found easily in a convenient store. But you can also buy a bag and make at home to enjoy throughout the day.

Mackerel fish in vinegar sauce (Aji Nanbantsuke)

Summer has begun in Japan. The heat up in summer dramatically makes people lose  appetite. Aji Nanbantsuke is the best side dish to serve as the sour taste of vinegar and some chili pepper can really stimulate the appetite.

Steamed Vegetables

Steamed vegetables are probably the most easy way to enjoy seasonal vegetables and most healthy. More importantly, steaming retains the sweetness, nutrition and vitamins of the vegetables. But only eating vegetables alone can be too simple and sometimes easily get bored.

Burmese Shrimp Curry (ပုဇြန္ဟင္း)

Burmese Shrimp Curry is always on my top  favorite. From young day, I remember very well how my grandma cooked us this curry when she got a fresh shrimp from the market. She would be very happy treating us a dinner while removing the shrimp's skin and marinading the curry with the rice for us.

Peony Garden 東公園(ぼたん園)

Peony flower is literally known as Chinese symbol flower as well as the king of flowers. There are many famous poems and paintings about Peony in China. In japan, the flower is called "Botan" (ぼたん). I have never seen it before until recently. Early May to middle here is the Peony season. This year I could find some time and went to the garden. It was very beautiful and impressive. There are 120 kinds of Peony and about 5000 plants. The flower is so big, very sweet fragrant, and very similar to rose fragrant.
